I feel like I'm a disappointment to my parents because I could never get excited about anything.

Which is silly. I'm a disappointment for different reasons.

You get excited about stuff, but maybe not the same stuff they do (which is not strange).

I actually don't get really excited around them. My dad bought a plasma TV and I didn't even blink. And you know I love that shit.

I can't remember getting excited around my parents, but I think that's because my relationship with them is so different now. I end up acting like an estranged parent, more than a daughter.

I'm not a very excitable person, either. My mom once called me inhuman because I didn't show emotion when there was a car wreck at the intersection our house was near.

You left that comment twice for some reason.

My dad gave me a bike for Christmas once. When my reaction to it was, "Oh, okay," Mom exclaimed, "See? I told you we gave the bike to the wrong kid!"

I forgot to sign in and tried stopping it but it went through anyway.

My mom bought me about two dozen Ninja Turtle toys one Christmas and put them all in one box. I told her I only really wanted two of them and she was a little put off. Looking back, I would've been, too.

Huh, according to LJ, you left the signed-in comment first.

Buying presents is hard. I don't do it.

Receiving presents is pretty cool, though.

But how do you feel about yourself? Don't be disappointed in yourself!

I'm more frustrated with myself. I am a frustrating person to be, sometimes.

Your parents are crazy. Therefore, their opinion doesn't matter.

I never get excited about anything either, which I believe frustrates my dad to no end. He's the only one who gives a crap.
